PJS Cleaning System
PJS of Houston Protocol for Suspected & Confirmed COVID-19 Cases
PJS treats ALL “suspected” cases as “confirmed” cases. PJS team members will wear proper protective equipment (PPE): Tyvek suits, goggles, disposable gloves, shoe covers, and N95 masks.
Training
Our Operation Managers have completed three hours of training hosted by the Global BioRisk Advisory Council, A Division of ISSA, the leading worldwide association for cleaning, regarding how to properly disinfect and combat the spread of COVID-19.
Step 1 Waiting
CDC recommends closing off all areas used by the ill persons and waiting 24 hours before cleaning and disinfecting to minimize the exposure to respiratory droplets.
Step 2 COVID-19 Virus Removal
After 24 hours pass, cleaning and disinfection begin.
PJS will clean visible dirt. Cleaning removes germs, dirt, and impurities from surfaces or objects. Cleaning alone does not kill germs but removes the germs which decreases their numbers and therefore any risk of spreading the infection.
Step 3 Killing the COVID-19 Virus
Disinfecting is defined as using chemicals to kill germs on surfaces or objects.
PJS will disinfect all areas used or suspected to be used by ill persons with Virex II 256, a CDC approved disinfectant. An extra focus is placed on frequently touched surfaces.
Then, PJS will Electrostatically spray all areas with Clorox 360, a chemical rated by the EPA as effective in killing COVID-19 in 3 minutes.
Step 4 COVID-19 Virus Preventative
Next, PJS will use a fogging mechanism to apply Razor, an inhibitor that leaves a microscopic antimicrobial coating on applied surfaces for up to 90 days.
Step 5 Proper Disposal
Upon removal of PPE, all PJS personnel will properly dispose of PPE and wash hands for a minimum of 20 seconds with soap and water. If soap and water is not readily available, an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains 60%-95% alcohol may be used.
